000
This 000 features logs recovered from a local river in the Far North of New Zealand which are estimated to be about 500 years old. The Top is Kahikatea which is similar to Sitka Spruce but has become stained from the minerals and river sediment, as well as being given a light stain around its edges to accentuate its dramatic colour. The back and sides are New Zealand Rimu, which is a hardwood similar in density to Mahogany and has also been stained to a charcoal grey colour from the river sediment.
